Wumi Toriola. Calls him ‘career less coward’ for defending Chef T ”Opeyemi Famakin”
Nigerian Actress Wumi Toriola has responded sharply to food critic Opeyemi Famakin following his defense of Chef T, also known as Diary of a Kitchen Lover, amidst an escalating dispute over a potential collaboration.
The conflict began when Toriola publicly criticized Chef T for allegedly ignoring her request to collaborate on her cooking show. Frustrated by what she perceived as a rejection, the actress took to social media to express her displeasure.
In retaliation, Opeyemi Famakin released a video lauding Chef T as one of the top food bloggers who consistently supports and collaborates with others, particularly those she holds in high regard. He also made it clear that he would not tolerate any disparagement directed at her, especially from an actress.
Wumi Toriola did not take kindly to Famakin’s remarks and quickly responded to the food critic. She labeled him a coward for making veiled comments about her without directly naming her.
“Dear Opeyemi,
There’s really no need to act like a coward. My name is Wumi Toriola, and I’m merely responding to your tantrums and desperate need for attention — if it brings you even a shred of relevance, I truly don’t mind,” she wrote.
She further questioned Famakin’s credibility, dismissing his role as a food critic and accusing him of causing more harm than good to struggling entrepreneurs.
“It’s rather amusing, though, coming from someone without a defined career or any tangible job description. You’ve caused more harm than good to struggling entrepreneurs, all under the guise of being a self-appointed food critic,” she continued.
Wumi concluded her remarks with a pointed suggestion, urging him to establish a successful career or business before attempting to critique her.
“Next time you feel the urge to come for me, perhaps take a moment to reflect, establish a long-term career or build a successful business of your own. That way, your words might carry a little more weight,” she added.
