Renowned Nigerian fashion designer, Seyi Vodi, has unveiled a multimillion-naira fashion complex, marking a major milestone in his over two-decade-long career in the fashion industry.
The celebrity stylist, known for dressing top dignitaries and entertainers, shared a video of the impressive facility on his Instagram page, accompanied by heartfelt prayers and a powerful message aimed at critics.

The video, which also featured some of his fashion students, showcased the sleek, modern space that Vodi says is designed to groom future fashion icons. But beyond the glitz and celebration, Vodi seized the moment to confront long-standing whispers and questions about the source of his wealth.
In a lengthy caption, the 49-year-old entrepreneur drew a comparison between himself and German fashion mogul Philipp Plein, noting that while Plein is worth nearly $1 billion and owns a private jet, no one in his environment questions the legitimacy of his success.
“My name is Seyi Adekunle Vodi… I have heard in different ways people asking, ‘is it only fashion that is giving him all this money?’ They ask from a place of want, of lack, of penury, ignorance and excruciating poverty,” he wrote.
Vodi attributed his achievements to consistent hard work, vision, and perseverance over 24 years without rest. He emphasised that societal attitudes shaped by poverty and distrust often lead to envy and baseless suspicion of legitimate success.
“If our society was one where people generally prospered, we wouldn’t be so hateful and suspicious of success,” he added.
With the new fashion complex, Vodi aims to not only expand his brand but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring creatives in Nigeria’s fashion space.
