Nigerian women in Mali prison cry out over poor feeding, demand freedom

A group of Nigerian women currently incarcerated in Bamako PrisonMali, have cried out for help, sharing a video that reveals the poor conditions they face and the kind of food they are fed.

This was contained in a post shared on a popular social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), by a user identified as @chude__.

In the video, the women—numbering many—can be seen protesting and demanding their freedom.

They expressed frustration over their living conditions and highlighted the poor quality of meals they are served in prison.

As the video played, the women shouted in unison, calling for freedom and pleading to be released so they could live a better life outside prison walls.

One of the women was heard saying: “This is the food they feed us here in Mali. We’re suffering. We need freedom.”

The video has since gone viral, sparking concern and outrage among online users, many of whom took to the comment section to express sympathy and call for intervention.
