A horrific case of domestic violence has shaken Maharashtra’s Parbhani district, as a man set his wife on fire following the birth of their third daughter, police reported on Saturday, December 28, 2024.

The tragic incident occurred on Thursday night in Gangakhed Naka, approximately 520 kilometers from Mumbai. According to authorities, the act was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, providing chilling evidence of the crime.

The accused, 32-year-old Kundlik Uttam Kale, reportedly had frequent arguments with his wife, Maina, over the fact that they had three daughters. Tensions escalated during a heated exchange, during which Kale doused Maina with petrol and set her ablaze, as detailed in a complaint filed by Maina’s sister.
