‘Kane can win titles!’ – Bayern chief hails striker after Bundesliga breakthrough
Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has lavished praise on Harry Kane after the England captain ended his long-standing trophy drought by helping the Bavarians clinch the 2024/25 Bundesliga title.
Bayer Leverkusen’s draw at Freiburg mathematically handed Bayern the title, sparking celebrations in Munich — and finally putting to rest the narrative that Kane, despite his prolific scoring record, couldn’t win silverware.
“Harry Kane has shown everyone: he can win titles,” Dreesen told Sky Deutschland, applauding the striker’s contribution since arriving last summer.
“He has already scored an incredible 80 goals for us. He’s been nothing short of exceptional.”
Kane has netted 36 times this season across all competitions, with 24 goals in the Bundesliga, putting him in pole position to win the German Golden Boot.
He will lead the celebrations on Saturday when Bayern host Borussia Mönchengladbach and lift the Meisterschale at the Allianz Arena.
Dreesen also credited new head coach Vincent Kompany for steering Bayern to the summit in his debut campaign, calling the Belgian’s title-winning season a “masterpiece.”
