“Judge my work, not my moves” — Gov. Adeleke defends love for dancing

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has responded to critics who often mock his love for dancing, asserting that his joyful public expressions should not be mistaken for a lack of seriousness or competence in governance.

Speaking at a recent public function, Governor Adeleke addressed growing scrutiny over his frequent dance appearances, which often go viral on social media.

He insisted that dancing is a harmless form of self-expression and does not interfere with his responsibilities as a leader.

“Stop judging me just because I choose to express myself through dancing. It is my joy, my freedom, and an essential part of who I am. If it brings me happiness and harms no one, then there is no reason it should be condemned,” he said.

Adeleke, who has earned the nickname “Dancing Governor,” argued that he is not alone among Nigerian politicians who enjoy dancing publicly, yet appears to face more criticism than others.

“Sanwo-Olu is dancing. Everybody is dancing. Even Baba [President Bola Tinubu] is dancing. So, there is no law that says just because you are a governor, you can’t dance,” he said.

He urged citizens and political commentators to focus on his achievements and policies rather than his lifestyle.

“Judge me by my governance, not my hobbies,” he concluded.
