Governor Fubara holds private talks with Tinubu at Presidential Villa

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today at the Presidential Villa in Abuja in a closed-door meeting.

The meeting comes amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, which led to the suspension of Governor Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the State House of Assembly.

The suspension, announced by President Tinubu three months ago during a nationwide broadcast, was part of a six-month state of emergency declared to restore order in the state.

The president cited the worsening political rift between the governor and lawmakers as the reason for the drastic action, aimed at stabilizing the state’s governance.

Photos of Governor Fubara and President Tinubu surfaced online, believed to have been taken during today’s meeting at the Villa.
