Ganduje predicts PDP’s collapse before end of 2025

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is on the verge of total collapse and will cease to exist before the end of 2025.

Ganduje made the statement in response to recent remarks by former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, who predicted that the APC would soon disintegrate, leading former PDP members, including Ganduje, back to the opposition party.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje dismissed Lamido’s claims as “baseless and irrational,” insisting he had no reason to return to a party he described as “dying.”

“In fact, very soon we will welcome Sule Lamido into the APC because he will have nowhere else to go. The PDP is dead,” Ganduje said.

He alleged that mounting internal crises within the PDP would ultimately lead to its complete disintegration. According to him, the APC has continued to consolidate power under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, with more politicians defecting from opposition camps.

Ganduje reaffirmed his commitment to steering the APC as the largest political party in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. He added that the party was making strides in strengthening internal democracy and governance structures across all levels.

He urged Lamido and other PDP leaders to focus on resolving their own party’s internal divisions rather than offering political forecasts about the APC.
