A Nigerian man has taken to social media to protest the arrest of popular influencer VeryDarkMan by moving all his money out of GTBank, describing the bank’s action as a major mistake.
In a post shared via X (formerly Twitter), the man demanded the immediate release of VeryDarkMan and called on GTBank to leave Nigeria if the influencer is not freed.
VeryDarkMan was reportedly arrested at a GTBank branch in Abuja after visiting with his mother to protest illegal debits from her account, despite having no outstanding loans.
As of the time of filing this report, neither GTBank nor the Nigeria Police Force has issued an official statement on the incident.
However, in a video shared online, VeryDarkMan’s brother claimed the police picked him up inside the bank, leaving their mother in tears.
Reacting to the arrest, the protesting customer wrote:
“Just moved all my money out of GTBank. Arresting VDM was one of their greatest mistakes. #FreeVDM or get out of Nigeria.”
