28-year-old final-year nursing student passes away in boyfriend’s room
A final-year nursing student from the Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Gifty Kyere, has passed away under mysterious circumstances at her boyfriend’s room in Jinijini, Bono Region.
Gifty, 28, left home a day before the incident to collect her school fees and other items. Her sudden death has left her family in disbelief and mourning.
Her father, Pastor Kyere Jonathan of the Agape Evangelical Church in Jinijini, expressed shock upon learning that his daughter had ended up at her boyfriend’s home instead of returning as planned.
The 23-year-old boyfriend, Edmond Ayomah, is currently on the run but has reportedly reached out to others, expressing his intention to turn himself in.
Ayomah initially claimed Gifty passed away after suffering an asthma attack and that he couldn’t afford to take her to the hospital. However, investigators have questioned this story.
Sources suggest that Gifty may have been pressured by Ayomah to terminate a pregnancy, which authorities believe could have played a role in her passing.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death and are searching for the suspect.
