A young Nigerian man sparks a buzz by celebrating his ‘Japa’ move after allegedly being drafted into the Russian Army.
Identified on X as @AbbakarAffan, the man posted a photo of himself at a Nigerian airport, announcing that he had officially left the country to begin a new chapter in the Russian military.
“I’ve been selected for the Russian army. Your prayers are needed. Contract signed with the Ministry of Defense,” he wrote in a post that has since gone viral.
He also shared a screenshot of a conversation indicating that his application had been approved and that he had been granted Russian citizenship. The message allegedly instructed him to report to the “Special Military Operations unit,” a phrase widely associated with Russia’s ongoing involvement in Ukraine.
The announcement quickly sparked reactions across X, with users expressing a mix of shock, concern, and scepticism.
