Yinka TNT Criticizes Mercy Aigbe’s ₦16M Outfit At Iyalode Premiere Amid Industry Struggles

Oluyinka O. Ayanda, widely known as Yinka TNT, a singer and life coach, has expressed disapproval over a viral video featuring Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe discussing the cost of her attire for a recent movie premiere.

Mercy Aigbe attended the Lagos premiere of Iyalode, a film by fellow actress Toyin Abraham, on Sunday, June 1. Her dramatic arrival, in a caravan carried by muscular men, quickly went viral on social media.

What sparked debate, however, was Mercy’s disclosure that the entire presentation including her outfit and the caravan cost between ₦15 million and ₦16 million.

Yinka TNT reacted strongly to the revelation, criticizing the lavish spending. She highlighted how several Nollywood veterans continue to suffer due to poor health and financial instability, often relying on public donations to survive.

In her words: “You bought cloth for N16m just for an event, coming from the industry that will later bring sick people for help.”

Yinka emphasized the contrast between such extravagance and the reality for many struggling actors, noting that the fans who are called upon to crowdfund for ailing stars can barely relate to such an expensive lifestyle.
