Popular Nigerian filmmaker Ademinokan, has responded to comments made by his ex-wife, Stella Damasus, regarding their divorce.

Nollywood filmmaker, Daniel Ademinokan, has described claims made by actress Stella Damasus regarding the dissolution of their marriage as lies.

The duo, who married in 2014 and divorced in 2020, have remained largely private about their split.

However, in a resurfaced interview with media personality, Teju Babyface, Damasus asserted that she discovered their divorce through YouTube.

She said, “I pride myself in being a very respectable person, a lot of things were said about me on YouTube. That is how I found out that my marriage had ended, on YouTube.”

In response, Ademinokan, in a series of posts via Instagram, accused Stella Damasus of repeatedly using his name to craft a misleading story, despite their separation being finalised three years ago.

Ademinokan emphasised that his restraint should not be misunderstood as weakness, warning that further distortions would be met with documented proof.

The filmmaker also countered the thespian’s assertion that she learned of their divorce online, claiming he has evidence that Damasus initiated the divorce proceedings.

He wrote, “I usually don’t dignify nonsense with a response, but when silence gets mistaken for ignorance or guilt, it’s only fair to offer a quick 5-minute reality check. Today’s your lucky day.

“Dear Queen Mother, five years since the separation, three since the divorce. Still, you just can’t let go. I’ve said nothing. I’ve seen nothing. I’ve done nothing, since 2020. But somehow, I’m still living rent-free in your narrative.

“Let me be clear, silence is not guilt. Distance is not weakness. But lies? Especially ones I have receipts for? That’s a different story.

“I’ve watched you twist facts with confidence, assuming no one’s paying attention. But now that you’ve mistaken grace for guilt, I will ask you to choose your next story wisely because I came with footnotes.

“Queen mother let’s not rewrite history just because the internet has a short attention span. You claimed in that little interview with your echo chamber that you “found out about the divorce on YouTube.” Lie.

“You claimed I signed and sent you the divorce papers that you were not aware of. Another lie. Quick reality check. Who filed for divorce?

“You do realize that’s public record, right? But don’t worry, I’ll post the receipts. A little reminder, just in case selective memory is setting in.”

Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report, Stella Damasus has yet to respond to her ex-husband’s allegations.
