Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has firmly debunked viral rumors claiming he passed away, calling the reports baseless and misleading. Taking to Instagram, the legendary actor shared a video to reassure fans that he is alive, healthy, and very much active.

“All because of likes, views, and comments, a blogger falsely announced my death, posting ‘RIP’ with my picture,” Agu said, visibly unbothered by the drama. “Let me shock you: Chief Chiwetalu Agu, Okenmiri n’ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State, is not going to die anytime soon. Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. Na who dig pit go fall inside.”

The actor, known for his witty and bold personality, expressed disappointment at how quickly people believed the fake news without verifying it. He added, “I’m yet to carry my grandchildren, and I’ll do so in good health when my children are ready.”

Agu also called out the blogger behind the rumor, describing them as someone desperate for attention. He joked that if a bigger platform like Tunde Ednut or Linda Ikeji had published such claims, he would’ve sued for defamation, but this one wasn’t worth the trouble.

Fans and colleagues have since flooded his comment section with relief and well-wishes, praising him for addressing the issue with his signature humor and confidence.
