Ali Baba Evicted from Multi-Million Naira Victoria Island Mansion

Veteran Nigerian comedian Ali Baba, alongside his company XQZMOI TV, has reportedly been evicted from his luxurious Victoria Island residence. The eviction, carried out by Federal High Court bailiffs on August 15, 2025, followed a legal battle over the property located at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street.

The mansion, which Ali Baba purchased in 2021 for ₦220 million from the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), became the center of a heated dispute. AMCON claimed it sold the property to recover debts allegedly owed by Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited. However, Harold Expansion fought back, arguing that it had repaid its debts and that the sale was invalid.

In a twist, the court ruled in favor of Harold Expansion on July 31, 2025, citing insufficient evidence from AMCON to justify the sale. The court also ordered the property’s return to its original owner and imposed a ₦500 million fine on AMCON for damages. Unfortunately for Ali Baba, his purchase of the property during ongoing litigation—despite a preservation order—left him caught in the crossfire.
